My second post for this week is going to be some advice. Now that I have gone throught the majority of my Senior year I know that all those people who told me it goes by fast were right. You have no idea how fast it goes and if you take school seriously it is a very stressful year. My advice for underclassmen would be to take your classes seriously now because when you go to college you're paying thousands of dollars for that education and now you have everything you need to know being taught to you for free. Teachers shouldn't be disrespected. What makes you think they want to be there any more than you do, especially when you're being rude? Get all of your work done early and it will pay off. TRUST ME! Procrastination does NOT work! My other big piece of advice is to make as many memories as you possibly can. Like I said, it goes by way too fast.

Boy Set On Fire By Bully!

This week I decided to find a current news topic and give my general opinion on it as well as the facts and information on it. I had trouble finding the right topic to write about that I would enjoy writing about, which is why I am doing this last minute. I was scrolling through my current newsfeed on Yahoo.com and I came upon the title "Bullied 13-Year-Old Set on Fire Changes Thinking." Immediately I was intrigued and decided to read the article. Bullying always seemed like something that always happend at school, no big deal. Never did I think that someone could take bullying to such an extreme in the way the 17-year-old Joseph D. Gardner chose to do so. This 17-year-old took such extremes as to place death threats, but he took it to the next level. Joseph D. Gardner told a 13-year-old boy that he wanted to kill him then later set the boy on fire and sat back to laugh. That poor boy suffered first and second degree burns on his arms and face. But that's not all, he also had lung damage from inhaling fumes of gasoline, which Gardner used to set his victim on fire. Garder is currently facing a 10 to 30 year sentence. After getting the jist of this article it made me think that bullying really can escalate. If you or someone else is being bullied, even in the slightest way, you should really tell an adult or your parents. Don't let something like this happen. Bullying needs to be stopped! I'd really like to know your thought and opinions on this subject and also about the poor boy in Missouri.

Well...
This would be my first blog post ever, so bare with me.

I'm a Senior in High School and ready to graduate next month. I am currently enrolled in an Advanced Newspaper Class, which I am editor-in-chief of. My blogs are mainly going to be my views on various subjects relating to my class, but also I'm going to use it as a way to express my opinion.
